A Good Short Story Behind Slow Start and “Not My Best” Round

Stories

I usually have begun with a slow start or “not my best” on the first 9 round or even full round. However, there was a good story behind this. I started recently collecting this story as a reminder for the things going sideways and not what expect will be, there are always a good thing happening at the end 🙂

Here are the stories:

Off the blacks, I started on the back nine with a bogey on the hardest hole of the golf course. Then on the 14th, a narrow par 5 with bushes on the left and OB on the right, I hit my 3W into the bushes. I reloaded of the tee aginst and made 7, 3+ through 5 holes. Then, to bounce back, I birdied a short par 3 and par the last few holes to finish the nine. To start the front nine, I birdied the 1st hole, the longest par 4 on the course. Then bogey the 4th hole and birdied the 8th to turn in as 1+.
@ Bonnie Doon Golf Club – Monthly Medal – 10 October 2020

As the COVID19 sports restriction (between mid-August and end-September) has been easing for NSW, I played this tournament and started well with a birdie at 1st and then bogeyed at 7th. Then through 11th, I chipped in for birdies (1 under). Then on 15th, I drove and went to the water and bogeyed the hole. Pared the rest. Even at the end. My highlight is a lot of up-and-down!!!
@ Liverpool Golf Club – Liverpool Junior Cup – 30 September 2020

At first 9, I had Even with 3 bogeys at 4th, 6th and 7th and 3 birdies at 1st, 5th and 9th and. Then through 14th, I had +2 and then back-to-back birdies at 15th and 16th. End up Even in a round. My highlight is 5 birdies.
I turned around this. For overall 2 rounds, I came 3rd Boys Championship and Winner on Boys 14 and 15 Years Division for the first time in JNJG tournament.

@ Shelley Beach Golf Club – Greg Chalmers Junior Masters – Round 2 – 2 August 2020

As the COVID19 sports restriction (between mid-February and end-May) has been easing for NSW, I played this big tournament. At first 9, I had 3 over with 2 bogeys and 1 double-bogey with 1 birdie. At back nine, I had 2 over with 1 each for a double-bogey, bogey and birdie. Total 5 over.
As Covid19, the group formatting has changed, and the junior paired with Shelley Beach Golf Club members, before the second round, one of the member player who is a formal Irish tennis coach gave me a box of chocolate and a good compliment on how I faced the double-bogey at 4th with 3 over through 4th. This box of chocolate is among on my trophy cabinet now 🙂

No matter how terrible you start, there is always a good story at the end 🙂
